The team led by Prof. Jian-Jia Chen and Dr. Mario Günzel from the Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University, together with Prof. Federico Aromolo and Prof. Alessandro Biondi (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, SSSA), received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS) 2025. The conference took place from December 2-5 in Boston, USA, and is one of the leading events in the field of real-time systems as an A* conference in the CORE ranking.
The winning paper, entitled "Requirement-Based Analysis of Self-Suspending Tasks under EDF", is the first to present a dynamic interval expansion method for self-suspending tasks under Earliest-Deadline-First (EDF) scheduling. This work outperforms previously known results from other schedulers and marks a milestone in the analysis of EDF methods for self-suspending tasks.
