Thomas Liebig: Digital services of general interest for sustainable cities and regions

Abstract:

Sustainability in cities and regions is not a purely technical problem, but an interplay of data, decisions and institutional processes. The presentation shows how computer science and geoinformatics can translate the UN sustainability goals into concrete decision problems of public services. Real systems from European research projects and municipal applications will be used to explain how data-driven methods contribute to climate adaptation, mobility, energy efficiency, health, fairness and participation.
