Two events under the banner of artificial intelligence
On September 4 and 5, two events dealing with artificial intelligence (AI) will take place in Dortmund's Westfalenhallen: "AI24 - The Lamarr Conference" in cooperation with the 42nd Future Logistics Congress and the "IN2AI" trade fair. TU Dortmund University is involved in both events.
As Central Europe's first scientific conference on application-oriented AI, particularly in industry and logistics, "AI24 - The Lamarr Conference" connects science and business at regional, national and international level. It is organized by the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, in which TU Dortmund University, the University of Bonn and the Fraunhofer Institutes for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS and for Material Flow and Logistics IML work together. AI24 takes place in cooperation with the "Zukunftskongress Logistik - 42nd Dortmunder Gespräche", which has been successfully established in Dortmund for over 40 years and this time focuses on the industrial application of AI under the guiding theme of "Industrial AI & Logistics".
Lamarr Award and Digital Logistics Award to be presented
AI24 deals with highly topical issues from cutting-edge AI research and its application in industry, including generative AI, the use of AI in industry and logistics and AI education for the next generations. The first day of the conference will start with the presentation of the first Lamarr Award after welcoming speeches by Dortmund's Lord Mayor Thomas Westphal and NRW Minister for Culture and Science Ina Brandes, among others. This year's award honors the internationally renowned pioneer in the field of AI, robotics, autonomous driving and digital education Sebastian Thrun from Stanford University. Keynote speeches by renowned (international) scientists followed by panel discussions are also on the agenda for the first day, which will end with an evening event at the "Phoenix des Lumières", where the 7th Digital Logistics Award will be presented. The international award was created by the Digital Hub Logistics, in which TU Dortmund University is involved, and is one of the most highly endowed awards in the logistics start-up scene.
The second day of the conference will also offer participants exciting impulses from various specialist disciplines and key topics as well as the opportunity to network intensively with leading AI experts. After the opening by Hendrik Wüst, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, there will be keynote speeches, workshops and panel discussions on various topics, including AI in astrophysics with Dr. Alicia Fattorini and Prof. Wolfgang Rhode from TU Dortmund University.
The program will be held in English, the entire event will be simultaneously translated into German. Tickets cost 190 euros. There is a free ticket contingent for TU Dortmund University employees; tickets can be requested by email. Journalists can also attend AI24 free of charge with a press ticket.
"IN2AI" is dedicated to the transformation of industry and logistics
The "IN2AI" trade fair, organized by Messe Dortmund and dedicated to the transformation of industry and logistics through artificial intelligence, will take place at the same time in Dortmund's Westfalenhallen. TU Dortmund University's Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET) will be represented with a stand, and CET employee Sina Ramin Sadegh Nadi will moderate the stage program on both days. On September 5, start-ups that have emerged from the university or are supported by CET - thinkBIC, Dr. Q, Logistikbude, Slapstack, Valoon and Datenlabel - will also be competing in the "AI made IN & FOR Dortmund" pitch. In addition, the AI service center "WestAI", in which TU Dortmund University is involved, will also be presenting itself at the fair.
Tickets for "IN2AI" cost 15 euros (day ticket) or 25 euros (for both days). Participants of "AI24" have free access to IN2AI.
