Research group from Chair 12 of the Department of Computer Science received Outstanding Paper Award at the prestigious RTSS 2024 in York.

The Department of Computer Science is pleased to announce a great success: The Design Automation for Embedded Systems research group from the department's Chair 12, together with researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS), received an "Outstanding Paper Award" at the IEEE Real-Time System Symposium (RTSS), which took place in York, UK, from December 10-13, 2024.

The winning paper entitled "A Distribution-Agnostic and Correlation-Aware Analysis of Periodic Tasks", authored by Filip Markovic (MPI-SWS), Georg von der Brüggen (TU Dortmund University), Mario Günzel (TU Dortmund University), Jian-Jia Chen (TU Dortmund University) and Björn Brandenburg (MPI-SWS), provides a novel, probabilistic analysis of task models in real-time systems. The work makes it possible to analyze distributions of response times and derive upper bounds for the probability of deadline violations. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the model takes into account dependencies within and between tasks.

The RTSS is considered the world's leading conference in the field of real-time systems and is classified as an A* conference in the CORE ranking. Interested parties can view the preprint of the paper here.

The department congratulates all participants on this outstanding achievement!
