Professor Buchin receives a DFG grant for research into new data structures for geometric domain queries.

Professor Buchin, holder of the Chair of Algorithm Engineering, has been awarded a DFG grant to research new data structures for geometric domain queries.

The aim of the project is to develop methods that not only find all objects in a query area efficiently, but can also determine their clustering at the same time - without having to recalculate the data. This extends classic concepts of algorithmic geometry to include important analytical functions that are of great importance in many applications.

The faculty warmly congratulates Professor Buchin on this achievement and wishes him and his team every success in the research project.
