Till Schallau receives funding from the renowned Software Campus program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). This top-class program selects only a few computer science doctoral students in Germany each year. It pursues two goals: To train future IT leaders in Germany and to fund a research project in collaboration with an industry partner.

Till Schallau's project VeRBAL: Vehicle Requirements Specification and Behavior Analysis Language is scientifically supervised by Prof. Dr. Hermann. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with Volkswagen AG as an industrial partner. The aim of the project is to develop a domain-specific tool that supports experts in the creation and maintenance of formal specifications and requirements in scenario-based testing for autonomous driving.

The funding enables Mr. Schallau to lead his own research team and gain management experience. He is the first doctoral student at TU Dortmund University to be funded under this program.
