Focus on cyber attacks: Christian Rossow as a guest on the Bechtle podcast "Basis 108"

How do large-scale cyberattacks work - and why have they long been one of the key challenges facing digital infrastructures? Prof. Dr. Christian Rossow talks about this with tech journalist Svea Eckert in the IT future podcast "Basis 108" from IT company Bechtle.
Christian Rossow is a professor at the Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University and a senior scientist at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security. His research focuses on network, software and system security, in particular DDoS attacks, malware analysis and software exploits.
In this podcast episode, Svea Eckert and Christian Rossow take a look at global DDoS attacks and explain how so-called honeypots help to make attackers visible. They also discuss why cyberattacks are now part of geopolitical conflicts, how companies can protect themselves and why basic internet protocols can be misused for attacks.
The episode offers a generally understandable insight into current IT security challenges and shows how research contributes to digital security.
