Interested in diversity and gender? Register now for the introductory module

How do social power structures emerge? What does social justice mean? And what role do diversity and gender play in this context? The Diversity and Gender Certificate program allows students to explore these and other questions in depth.
In the 2026–2027 winter semester, the introductory module (5 CP) of the certificate program will be offered for the second time at TU Dortmund University. It consists of six block courses and offers the opportunity to engage with diversity- and gender-related topics in an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented manner.
For the upcoming semester, 15 spots are available for students of TU Dortmund University. No prior specialized knowledge is required—what’s most important is an interest in interdisciplinary work and a willingness to critically examine social structures and power relations. Students from all disciplines are warmly invited to register.
Registration is open until October 16, 2026. After the registration deadline, spots will be allocated by lottery.
The certificate program is offered jointly by TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University Bochum, and the University of Duisburg-Essen and comprises a total of 15 credit points, which can be earned through three modules taken alongside regular coursework.
Further information about the certificate and registration is available on the Diversity and Gender Certificate website.
