Application subject "Service Informatics" for the Bachelor's degree program in Applied Computer Science

Discontinued application subject!

The last time it was possible to choose the application subject Service Informatics for the Bachelor's degree course in Applied Computer Science was in the summer semester 2022. The application subject Enterprise Computing has replaced the application subject Service Informatics.

Modules to be taken for the application subject and further regulations

Overall scope of the modules

(1) The application subject Service Informatics (DLI) comprises modules amounting to a total of 36 credit points (CP) in the Bachelor's degree program.

(1a) The last time students can choose the application subject Service Informatics in the Bachelor's degree course in Applied Computer Science is in the summer semester 2022. Further details can be found in the phasing-out regulations for Service Informatics BSc Inf.

Replacement for the modules "Higher Mathematics"

(2) In accordance with Annex A Para. 1 BPO AngInf, the modules Higher Mathematics 1, Higher Mathematics 2 and Higher Mathematics 3 with a total of 28 credit points are no longer required. The student acquires 27 credit points through the modules Mathematics for Computer Science 1, Mathematics for Computer Science 2, Logic for Computer Science as well as through a module from the module catalog "Concepts for Software" of the compulsory elective area, which has not yet been selected under Annex A Para. 3 and 4 BPO AngInf.

Compulsory modules Service Informatics

(3) The student earns credit points for each of the following modules with a total of 12 credit points.

The selection of a module of the same name under Annex A Para. 3 Point c BPO AngInf is excluded.

Compulsory elective catalog "Business Information Systems"

(4) The student acquires the credit points for one of the following modules with a scope of 6 credit points.

If the module Business Information Systems DLI is selected, the selection of the Bachelor module Business Information Systems (4 CP), if the module Databases in Practice DLI is selected, the selection of the Bachelor module Databases in Practice (4 CP) and if the module Fundamentals of Data Science DLI is selected, the selection of the Bachelor module Fundamentals of Data Science (4 CP) under Annex A Para. 3 Point c BPO AngInf is excluded.

Compulsory elective catalog "Current topics in service informatics"

(5) The student acquires the credit points for one of the following modules with a scope of 4 credit points.

The selection of a module of the same name under Annex A Para. 3 Point c BPO AngInf is excluded.

Compulsory elective catalog "Economics"

(6) The student earns credit points for one or more of the following modules in economics with a total of 15 CP.

The selection of a module of the same name under Annex C Para. 2 BPO AngInf is excluded.

Supplementary oral examinations

(7) The possibility of a supplementary oral examination in accordance with §10, para. 1 BPO AngInf does not apply to examinations for which the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences is responsible.

Scope of application, transitional regulations

(8) This regulation applies to all students of the Bachelor's degree program in Applied Computer Science at the Technical University of Dortmund with the application subject Service Informatics.

(9) For students who chose the application subject Service Informatics before the winter semester 2013/14, the application subject Service Informatics has a scope of 36.5 credit points and the module Business Information Systems Service Informatics (DLI) a scope of 5.5 credit points in accordance with §26 para. 2 BPO AngInf, unless they have submitted an application to acquire the number of credit points listed in Annex A and B BPO AngInf.

(10) Students who have chosen the application subject Service Informatics before the winter semester 2012/13 can also acquire the credit points of the compulsory elective catalog "Current Topics in Service Informatics" through the following modules, which have been overridden.

The selection of a module of the same name under Annex A Para. 3 Point c BPO AngInf is excluded.

(11) Students who chose the application subject Service Informatics before the winter semester 2012/13 can also acquire the credit points of the compulsory elective catalog "Economics" through the following modules that are no longer offered. Failed examination attempts in the following modules no longer offered with a scope of 15 credit points will be credited for the two modules replacing the respective module with a scope of 7.5 credit points each.

(12) Students who have chosen the application subject Service Informatics before the winter semester 2019/20 can also acquire the credit points of the compulsory elective catalog "Economics" through the following modules that are no longer offered.

The selection of a module of the same name under Annex C Para. 2 BPO AngInf is excluded.

(13) Students who have chosen the application subject Service Informatics before the winter semester 2019/20 acquire 37 credit points in accordance with Section 27 (8) of the examination regulations for the Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science of the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technical University of Dortmund (BPO AngInf), which were provisionally applied by resolution of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Computer Science on 28 August 2019; they acquire 6 credit points instead of 5 credit points through the modules of the compulsory elective catalog "Business Information Systems" in accordance with paragraph 4. The BPO AngInf applies to applications for the application of the new study structures.

(14) Students who chose the application subject Service Informatics before the winter semester 2022/23 can also earn the credit points for the compulsory module "Business Process Management" in accordance with paragraph 3 through the following module, which is no longer offered

and the credit points for the compulsory module "Modeling of Concurrent Processes" in accordance with paragraph 3 can also be acquired through the following module, which is no longer offered.

The selection of a module of the same name under Annex A, paragraph 3, point c BPO AngInf is excluded.
