Pre-course mathematics
Preliminary course in mathematics before the winter semester
The preliminary courses of the Department of Mathematics are aimed at first-year students of all mathematics-applying disciplines, and thus also at students of computer science.
Their goal is to repeat and expand school material in order to offer all students the same prerequisites for the beginning of their studies. Mathematical techniques and structures that will be part of the daily tools of the trade in later studies are also covered. However, the preliminary courses are not intended to anticipate the content of the basic lectures.
