Gaining international experience

Here you will find all the important information about studying abroad at the Department of Computer Science.

Next information event on January 15th, 5 p.m. at OH12 Room 4.013

The world is moving closer together: economically as well as culturally. This is why international experience is becoming increasingly important for personal development and professional success.

For this reason, the Department of Computer Science and its members drive international networking forward. Over the years, many international contacts have been established and research projects have been realized. We also provide opportunities to students of the faculty for gaining enriching international experiences abroad at an early stage.

Are you interested?

There are many ways to study abroad, and such experiences can be adapted to very individual interests. All stays can be categorized into study, internship, thesis or short stay abroad. The International Office of the TU Dortmund University provides extensive information on all these forms on its website.

At the beginning of each year, the Department of Computer Science organizes an information evening on the topic of studying abroad. Further information, regular updates, as well as the slides of past info evenings can be found in our Moodle (password: "erasmus"). The application for Erasmus+ stays is possible until the end of January (for the following winter and summer semester in the following year).

Active engagement

Active engagement enables foreign students to have a more pleasant stay at our faculty, and allows international exchange without leaving Dortmund. Involvement can take many different forms:

  • Recreational activities (getting to know Dortmund and its surroundings, cultural program)
  • Study assistance (working out timetables, joint study groups)
  • Other support (campus tour, handing over dormitory keys)

We are looking forward to any kind of help - just send us an email (without obligation)!
